Description
This set of four pressed glass ashtrays is executed in a deep ruby red color, characteristic of mid-20th-century American glassware. The collection is attributed to Anchor Hocking, specifically resembling the Royal Ruby line. Included in the set are two large circular ashtrays featuring a 12-sided faceted exterior and four molded cigarette rests. The interior bases of these circular pieces are decorated with a complex pressed geometric starburst and floral pattern, often identified as the Prescut Star design. Also included are two smaller square ashtrays with rounded corners, featuring three circular molded interior wells and cigarette rests at each corner. The glass exhibits a near-black appearance in thicker sections, transitioning to a vibrant red in thinner areas. No maker marks or signatures were observed during inspection.
