Description
This pair of footed art glass baskets is composed of translucent cranberry red glass with clear crystal bases and handles. The form and color are characteristic of the mid-20th-century production associated with the Fenton Art Glass Company. Each basket features a vertical optic ribbed pattern within the bowl and a deeply ruffled, crimped rim. The clear crystal handles are hand-applied and exhibit a twisted rope or spiral texture. The pedestal bases are clear crystal and flare outward. The underside of the base on each piece shows a rough, snapped-off pontil mark, indicating hand-blown craftsmanship.
