Description
A vintage hand-cranked butter churn manufactured by the Dazey Churn and Manufacturing Company. The item features a clear glass jar with a rounded square profile and vertical ribbing at the corners. Molded lettering on the side of the vessel reads FILL TO HERE, with the Dazey brand name faintly visible above the fill line. The mechanical assembly consists of a metal screw-on lid that supports a distinctive football-shaped gear housing. A metal crank arm with a turned wooden handle drives the internal agitation mechanism. The interior contains a set of two-piece wooden paddles secured to a vertical metal drive shaft. This design was a common tabletop dairy appliance during the mid-20th century.
