Description
This decorative table lamp is a unique assemblage created from repurposed vintage industrial and household components. The focal point of the piece is an antique manual cast iron grinder or ice pulverizer, finished in an older red paint. The device features a hand crank with a turned wooden handle and a hinged top lid secured by a brass-toned latch. Opening the lid reveals an internal mechanism consisting of a rotating drum with multiple staggered teeth designed to interface with corresponding teeth on the interior of the lid. Mounted behind the red grinder on the same base is a vintage-style brass lamp assembly. It features a curved gooseneck-style support leading to a standard-size socket with a pull-chain switch. The entire unit is mounted to a thick, rectangular solid wood block base. The base is elevated by four repurposed white ceramic porcelain insulators serving as feet. The unit is equipped with a brown two-prong power cord. No maker marks or patent dates are visible on the cast iron grinder or the brass lamp components.
