Description
A group of two US commemorative medals associated with Louisville, KY. The first is a white-metal medal issued in June 1922 to honor J.H. Tregoe. The obverse features a profile portrait with the inscriptions 25 YEARS OF SERVICE and J.H. TREGOE. The reverse is inscribed COMMEMORATING 25 YEARS OF SERVICE OF J.H. TREGOE WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CREDIT MEN LOUISVILLE, KY. JUNE – 1922. This text is flanked by the seal of the National Association of Credit Men and the seal of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The medal exhibits a thick plain edge. The second item is a silver-toned medal commemorating the University of Louisville Sesquicentennial, dated 1798 – 1948. The obverse depicts a classical-style helmeted head in profile with the inscription UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE – SESQUICENTENNIAL. The reverse is covered by a circular green felt pad. – 3"
