The Historic 1840 Tucker House Bed and Breakfast Auction: A Distinguished Offering of Primitives & Antiques
Lot 80:
Description
This set comprises three vintage cast iron baking pans identified by their form and design as classic American kitchenware. The collection includes a Turk’s Head gem pan featuring six scalloped molds with a decorative shell motif. The pan utilizes an open-frame construction between the cups and is finished with two flat rectangular handles at the ends. While the design is consistent with early 20th-century models by makers such as Lodge, no manufacturer marks are visible on this piece. The second item is a cornstick pan with seven molds cast to replicate the appearance of ears of corn, flanked by two loop handles. The reverse of the central mold is marked with an incised number 7 and the letter S. The third item is a muffin or popover pan containing six deep, cylindrical cups and two end handles featuring distinctive triangular cutouts. All items are constructed of cast iron.
