Description
This lot features a two-piece decorative set consisting of a carved figurine and a matching ceramic holder. The figurine depicts a traditional Chinese fisherman in a squatting pose, wearing a wide-brimmed conical hat and robes while holding a long, slender pole. A small jar with a woven basket-texture sits at his feet on an integral rocky base. The figure is carved from bovine bone, characterized by an off-white color and visible fine longitudinal grain with small dark pits. The set includes a hexagonal ceramic vessel finished in a pale celadon green glaze with a reddish-brown iron-rim glaze. The vessel contains approximately two dozen flat, paddle-topped sticks carved from bone matching the figurine. No marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the exterior or underside of the pieces.
