Description
A trio of pewter candlesticks manufactured by Woodbury Pewterers as part of the licensed reproduction collection for the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The set comprises three distinct traditional American forms. The first is a tall baluster candlestick featuring a multi-knop turned stem on a wide, slightly domed circular base. The second is a mid-height baluster candlestick with a tapered stem on a heavy, stepped circular base detailed with ring-turned accents. The third is a chamberstick, or hand candlestick, featuring a low-profile candle cup set within a wide saucer-style base and equipped with a scrolled finger handle. Each piece is constructed of cast pewter and finished with lathe-turned details. The underside of the chamberstick base bears an impressed mark showing a clock tower within an oval, encircled by the text THE HENRY FORD MUSEUM & GREENFIELD VILLAGE with WOODBURY PEWTERERS impressed below.
