Description
This is a child sized or youth side chair constructed in the American primitive farmhouse style. The piece is crafted from solid hardwood, possibly oak or maple, featuring a prominent wood grain. The design includes a spindle back with four tapered spindles set into a shaped solid wood plank seat and a wide, flat top rail. The back posts are secured to the top rail with fasteners visible from the rear side. The chair stands on four tapered legs reinforced with a H-form stretcher system and two additional side stretchers. Modern protective glides have been added to the base of the legs. No maker marks, labels, or stamps are present on the piece.
