Description
This hand-tufted wool accent rug features a traditional Oriental-inspired floral design in a muted color palette. The central rectangular field is rendered in a beige or cream color, decorated with stylized floral sprays, palmettes, and vine work in shades of dusty blue, gold, and sage green. This field is enclosed by a wide primary border in deep rose and burgundy with a repeating floral design, flanked by thin inner and outer guard stripes. The rug is constructed with a wool pile on a cotton foundation. The underside features a characteristic canvas or scrim backing with fabric binding along the perimeter, which is indicative of hand-tufted construction. Applied white cotton fringe is present at the two shorter ends. No maker marks, labels, or tags are visible on the front or the back of the rug. Small accent or hearth-sized rectangular rug.
