Description
This collection of vintage vanity items features a hand mirror manufactured by the Homan Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The mirror handle is stamped with the transcription: MFD & WARRANTED BY / THE HOMAN MFG CO. / 1172. The mirror is constructed of silver-plated base metal and features a beveled glass plate. The reverse side is decorated with an elaborate repousse-style design of dense floral motifs and scrolling acanthus leaves on a textured ground. Also included is a hairbrush with a silver-plated back featuring a scrolled foliate border and a blank central cartouche. The brush contains natural bristles set into a wooden mount. Completing the assortment is a small, octagonal aqua-tinted glass bottle and a vanity tool with a tapered cream-colored celluloid handle and a metal shank.
