Description
A set of vanity dresser accessories manufactured from French Ivory, a trade name for early 20th-century celluloid plastic designed to simulate the appearance and grain of natural ivory. The collection includes a hand mirror, a circular lidded powder jar, nail buffers, and a button hook. Each piece features a fine, linear grain pattern characteristic of high-quality imitation ivory from this period. The powder jar is designed with a horizontally ribbed base and a lid featuring a scalloped or notched edge. The hand mirror is stamped on the handle with the mark FRENCH IVORY in sans-serif capital letters. The button hook consists of a metal hook set into a coordinating celluloid handle. The nail buffers feature chamois leather surfaces, with one piece including a raised handle.
