Description

This lot consists of two vintage items related to the history of Louisville, Kentucky. The first item is a promotional metal desk clipboard for the Lincoln Savings Bank and Trust Co. The piece is constructed from stamped and plated metal, likely nickel-plated steel. The top features an arched decorative clip embossed with a Greek key border and a central architectural image of the Lincoln Bank Building. Text on the clip reads: LINCOLN SAVINGS BANK and TRUST CO., LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY, CAPITAL $ 500,000.00, SURPLUS $ 100,000.00, and COMMERCIAL BANKING, SAVINGS and TRUST ACCOUNTS. The reverse side features a worn circular maker’s mark with visible text including H. A., CO., and CHICAGO. The second item is a souvenir plaque featuring a printed architectural rendering of a stone church. The print is mounted to a dark-stained wood block with decorative gouge-carved edges. Text in the lower right corner of the print identifies the location as Brown’s Lane at Church Way, Louisville, Kentucky. The reverse side is equipped with a simple wire and ribbon loop for wall hanging. – 5"x8"
