Description
An antique small-format milk or cream can constructed from enameled steel, commonly referred to as graniteware. The exterior features a gray mottled or speckled finish characteristic of early 20th-century enamelware production. The vessel is of cylindrical form with a tapered shoulder leading to a short neck and a rolled rim. It is accompanied by a fitted, slightly domed lid with a central knob finial. The can is equipped with an iron wire bail handle secured to two side ears. The handle features a turned wooden grip with a dark, aged finish. The interior surface displays the same mottled enamel finish as the exterior. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces shown.
