Description
A heavy cast-brass industrial pneumatic valve assembly featuring an integrated whistle nozzle, identified as a railroad caboose backup whistle. The main body of the valve is cast in raised relief on one side with the text SHERBURNE CO and BOSTON MASS. The reverse side is cast with the word PATENT over the number 1890212. The assembly includes a spring-loaded vertical plunger mechanism and a lever-actuated arm connected to a shaped whistle head. One end of the body features a large hexagonal nut surrounding a female threaded intake port containing original internal packing. The base of the assembly features a secured nut held in place by a metal cotter pin.
